One Club Names Hall of Famers

Cliff Freeman and Partners founder Cliff Freeman (pictured), Bartle Bogle Hegarty co-founder John Hegarty and Grace & Rothschild co-founder Diane Rothschild will be inducted into the One Club Creative Hall of Fame, a club representative said. They were selected by the One Club Board for their lifetime achievements and will be honored with a dinner Oct. 27. Event chair will be past Hall of Famer Rich Silverstein. "Cliff Freeman is a brilliant mind. I don't think anybody has left such a legacy as he has," said One Club executive director Mary Warlick, also praising Hegarty and Rothschild for work with their respective agencies. This is the first time since 1974 that a woman has been inducted into the Hall of Fame.



Studio to Show Creatives' Fine Art

New York-based editing house Ohio Edit will feature creatives' fine art in a studio exhibition opening Sept. 29. Contributors are Carol Dronsfield and Randi Himelfarb of Ogilvy & Mather in New York, John Hobbs of Lowe in New York, Jeff Kling of Euro RSCG in New York, photographers Steven Klein, Jeff Laramore and David Young of Young & Laramore in Indianapolis, Domingo Perez of the Kaplan Thaler Group in New York and Ryan Waller of Mother in New York. "We wanted to do something that celebrates creatives in the industry who are also fine artists, and sometimes go unrecognized," says executive producer Erica Thompson.



Lavoie Named ADC President

Paul Lavoie, chairman and chief creative officer of Taxi in New York, has been named president of the Art Directors Club, replacing Robert Greenberg, chairman of R/GA in New York. His second-in-command will be Brian Collins, Ogilvy & Mather's executive creative director of the agency's Brand Integration Group, as vice president. … Eric Silver, evp, executive creative director, BBDO in New York, has been named to the American Advertising Federation's Hall of Achievement.
