SAN FRANCISCO Old Navy breaks in-house spots showing off its summer clothing on American Idol tonight, company officials said.

The campaign’s four new television ads—”Picnic-Tanks,” “Picnic-Graphics,” “Pool-Swim” and “Pool-Flag”—are free of 1970s-era stars such as Morgan Fairchild and Joan Collins. Showing regular people engaging in summer fun, the spots will run through June 6 on both broadcast and cable networks.
