Bozell last week boosted group creative director David Nobay to man aging partner, deputy executive creative director. In the newly created post, he will assume day-to-day control over the 60-person creative department.
"My job is to make sure the creative teams have the support they need," Nobay said.
Nobay, 35, will free man aging partner, ecd Tony Granger to focus on new business and oversee the 375-person Interpublic Group shop with Bozell president Tom Ber nardin.
"We run a lean, mean creative de partment, and there's a lot of energy and organized chaos," said Granger, 40, to whom Nobay reports. "It needs constant attention. I can't do that, as well as help Tom run the agency."
Nobay, who joined the New York shop about four years ago, will continue his gcd duties on Verizon Wireless and "Got Milk?". Prior to joining Bozell, Nobay freelanced for a year at London agencies such as AMV BBDO shop Anthem Advertising. Before that, he led Wells Nobay McDowall, a shop he helped found in Melbourne, Australia, in 1996.
Bozell claims estimated billings of $878 million.
