Continuing the consolidation trend among interactive agencies, two shops in Omnicom Group’s Communicade new media unit plan to merge, said sources.
The two agencies, Agency.com in New York and Interactive Solutions in Cambridge, Mass., will take the Agency.com name. Both are 40 percent owned by Omnicom.
The new company will likely be combined with Eagle River Interactive, a Chicago shop fully owned by Omnicom, sources said. Executives at Agency.com and Omnicom declined comment.
The combined entity, which would be the largest interactive agency, could go public this fall, said sources.
