D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles appointed Steven Palos director of Marketing Services, Asia-Pacific, a newly created position. He will report to both Wendy Riches, president of D'Arcy Marketing Services Group, who is based in New York, and Garry Titterton, president and CEO of D'Arcy Asia-Pacific, who is based in Hong Kong. Palos, whose appointment is effective immediately, most re cently was managing director at OgilvyOne Malaysia. He is based in D'Arcy's Singapore office.
Oasis in New York hired Jim Firestone as director of account planning. He will head all strategic planning efforts for the agency's clients, such as Toyota Motor North America, Toyota Motor Sales and Sharp Electronics. Firestone previously worked as vice president, senior account planner at Deutsch in New York. In addition, Oasis named Madeline Masarof assistant media director, a newly cre ated position. She will work on media buying and planning for all the shop's accounts, including Toyota Motor North America and Sharp Electronics. Masarof most recently was at Foote, Cone & Belding New York, where she was a media supervisor, working on accounts such as Kraft, Dole and Chase. Robin Havrilla was promoted to the dual position of chief operating officer and general manager at HavrillaCorrigan in Lancaster. She previously was account supervisor.
