- NEW YORK Bozell New York has appointed Peter Gardiner a managing partner of the agency. He is currently media director at the New York shop. Catalyst Direct has hired eight new staffers and promoted five. John Casey was named account director; before joining the Rochester shop, he served in an account-management capacity at Cathedral Corp. Carl Merritt has joined the agency as client support manager; he was previously at Xerox Corp. Melanie Spencer was appointed applications manager; she was formerly manager, open systems at Acxiom-Sigma Marketing Group. Gary Briggs was hired as infrastructure manager; he also joins the shop from Acxiom-Sigma Marketing Group. Daniel Jones arrives as senior art director; he was formerly co-owner of a design firm in Greenville, S.C. John Johnston was named assistant studio manager; most recently, he worked as an art director at American Sports Media. Ken Smyntek was appointed production manager; he was previously a senior buyer at Marketing Resources of New York. Marie Page was named business development specialist; she previously served in a telesales capacity at Frontier Communications. At the agency, Robert Sanders was promoted from studio manager to director, studio services; Diane Andrews rose from account director to director, business development; Carl Mock was elevated from senior account executive to account director; Robin Prinz rose from account executive to senior account executive; and Gina Baker was promoted from program manager to senior account executive. Karen Weiner Escalera Associates has promoted Charles Mardiks to senior vice president; he was most recently vice president at the New York shop. Oasis has appointed Simon Foster senior writer. Prior to joining the New York agency, Foster served as writer at Foster Nunn Loveder in Sydney, Australia. Landor Associates has hired four new senior-level staffers at its New York office. Drew Coburn was named senior branding consultant; he was previously vice president, account management at Young & Rubicam. Wallace Krantz Jr. was appointed design director; he was formerly a design director at Interbrand. Tim Munoz arrives at the agency as director of corporate branding; he was previously vice president of sales and marketing at Comcast Corp. Lawrence Butner Advertising has hired four new staffers. Lisa Bernardi was named executive assistant/coordinator, telemarketing. Lenny Gersbeck joins the New York agency as manager/broadcast traffic. Media Logic in Albany has promoted Christie Breslin to junior account executive; she was formerly account coordinator at the agency. D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles in New York has appointed Leland Barnecut senior vice president, training and development director worldwide; he was a partner of the consulting firm Harbridge House. People in New York has named Gary Ryan general manager of People Online, a new position. Most recently, she was franchise development director at the magazine. - NEW JERSEY WPP Group's Einson Freeman has named Donald Brennan group director of Einson Display. Before arriving at the Paramus shop, Brennan worked as vice president of marketing and advertising at Neumann Sports Glove in Hoboken. DVC has recently promoted Cory Kallet to executive vice president, account director of DVC ActiveCare, the healthcare-marketing division of DVC, located in Morristown. Most recently, he was senior vice president, account director of DVC ActiveCare. The MWW Group, located in East Rutherford, has named Ronn Torossian - vice president at the shop's New York office. Before arriving at the agency, Torossian was a senior account supervisor at G.S. Schwartz in New York. Health!Quest Global Communication Partners has hired Edward Fritz as chief financial/business development officer. Fritz, one of the Metuchen-based Health!Quest's founding partners, had served as group company chief financial officer of CommonHealth until November 1999. Summit's Bandujo Donker & Brothers Advertising and Design has named John DeLade vice president of new business development. Prior to joining the agency, he owned and operated The Golden Bud, - retail and wholesale home-fashions-merchandise business. The Star Group in Cherry Hill has appointed Amy Anderson to an account executive position, working on the day-to-day service for such clients as Jevic Transportation and GE Capital. She most recently worked at McCann-Erickson in New York. - PENNSYLVANIA John Elisco was named to the additional position of president of MudAdvertising.com, a Net advertising agency that conducts nearly all of its business online. Elisco is also president of Elisco Advertising; Mud Advertising is a division of Elisco, located in Pittsburgh. Dudnyk Healthcare Group in Horsham has promoted Nina Goodheart to president. In this new capacity, Goodheart will oversee operations for Dudnyk Healthcare West in San Francisco and Precision Healthcare Communications, a strategic- and creative-project agency that is located in Lambertville, N.J. She previously served as executive vice president of the three agencies. Collegeville Advertising Associates, a Saatchi & Saatchi Healthcare Resources Group division, has hired two new staffers. Lee Rosenberg was named senior vice president, account group supervisor; before joining the Collegeville shop, he was senior vice president, account supervisor at CommonHealth division Adient. Michele Rosenthal has arrived at the shop as editorial assistant; she was formerly at NovaCare, located in King of Prussia. Stiegler, Wells & Brunswick has promoted Linda Davis to manager of marketing services. Most recently, she was the representative responsible for the toll-free phone line for SWB client Mack Trucks. LevLane Advertising/Public Relations/Interactive has promoted three staffers. Kathleen Taylor was elevated to media supervisor; she was previously media planner/buyer at the Bala Cynwyd agency. And Chad Crawford was appointed account executive, overseeing marketing efforts for the KFC account, among other duties; formerly, he was assistant account executive at the agency. Ferrare & Fleming Advertising has hired Karen Safford as desktop coordinator, a new position. OND Advertising & Public Relations in Bala Cynwyd named Jessica Bennett marketing services manager. Prior to joining OND, she served as an account representative at United Asset Management. John Bilotta Jr. was promoted to production and traffic manager. He served as a freelance Web developer before joining OND's creative department full-time in November 1999.
