CONNECTICUT Diane Goodman was elected president of the Connecticut chapter of the American Marketing Association in Hartford. She is president of Goodman Speaker's Bureau in Windsor. The chapter's president-elect is Leila Fecho, president of Above & Beyond Communications in Mansfield. Robert Lang, president of Robert Lang Associates in Farmington, is treasurer, and Jerry Ketron, marketing executive with United Illuminating in New Haven, is secretary. Tom Deffenbaugh has been hired as an on-line editor at Moving Pictures Video & Film in Glastonbury. He will operate the Digital Betacam editing suite and the Avid Media composer. He was previously an on-line editor with Alden Video. Robert Naples was named chief financial officer of Printing Arts in Westport. Naples was most recently a chief financial officer with Arcata Corp. J. Brown/LMC Group in Stamford has appointed Jonathan Bauchner junior account executive. He left his position as associate merchandise manager at Microwarehouse in Norwalk to join the company. MAINE Garrand & Co. in Lewiston has named Bill Cohen manager of communications services. Cohen had been director of public affairs and communications for the Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. MASSACHUSETTS A-Type Media Group in Boston has named Aimee Zaslaw operations manager of its Hingham office; Catherine Swan, marketing director; David Moloney, senior designer; Jason Goodwin, Web developer; Peter Carney, production coordinator; Don MacNeil, production liaison; and Danielle Masse, office manager. Nicoll Public Relations in Sharon has appointed Jennifer Bowers public relations assistant. Bowers is a recent graduate of Loyola College in Maryland. Boston-based Trinity Communications tapped Michael Brodsky as technical Web director. Previously, Brodsky was a Web master and network administrator at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. Prior to that, Brodsky worked as an Internet artistic design specialist for Phoenix Media Communications Group, also in Boston. The New England Board of the American Society of Media Photographers has elected the following new officers: Mark Bogacz and Jonathan Kannair, co-presidents; George Peet, vice president; Carolyn Ross, treasurer; Kevin Brusie, membership chair; Jim Flynn, programs chair; Angela Coppola, big picture awards chair; John Dewaele, sponsorship; and Greg Nikas, education. Judi Rothberg, a former executive assistant to the director of marketing at Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos in Boston, has launched her own freelance writing business called Your Write Arm in Brookline. Jennifer Richard has been promoted to account executive from assistant account executive at Wallwork Curry in Boston. Prior to joining the company, she was employed at Boston-based Arnold Communications. NEW HAMPSHIRE Bedford-based Communications Management International has named Ellen Kane creative projects manager and Dana Estes and Christine Redd account managers. Kane was most recently with the Muscular Dystrophy Association of New Hampshire. Estes was previously with ABC Television, and Redd was with Eastman Kodak. Natalie Eve Timmons was named "Woman of the Year" by the Haverill, Mass., YMCA. Timmons is a principal of Communications Coach, a public relations, marketing, consulting and training firm in Kingston. RHODE ISLAND Brian Sear has joined Martin Design Group in Warwick as general manager. He will be responsible for the company's overall management and new business development. He was previously an account executive for Elite Color Group in Providence. Before that, Sear was with Creamer Dickson Basford.
