ARS/Rescue Rooter has awarded its direct marketing business to Archer>Malmo.
The account acquisition marks the fifth division of ServiceMaster Company the Memphis, Tenn., agency has added to its client list.
Estimated billings on those accounts total more than $18 million.
Archer>Malmo was assigned the business without a review.
Sources said the most significant factor in the Rescue Rooter assignment was the agency's direct marketing efforts for ServiceMaster's Terminix brand.
"Archer>Malmo's creative talent, strategic know-how and attentionto client service delivered a return on our investment many times over," said Richard Hill, director of customer relationship marketingat the Memphis-based pest control company.
Sources familiar with the account suggested Terminix experienced a tenfold return on its direct marketing investment.
Other ServiceMaster units the agency handles include Merry Maids, American Home Shield and Furniture Medic, all based in Memphis.
Rescue Rooter provides HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and otherservices to more than 1.3 million commercial and residential customers in nearly 100 locations across the country.
"We feel Rescue Rooter is poised for a period of rapid growth," said Jack Tester, the company's vice president of residential service. "The time is right for us to step up our direct marketing and database activity."
ServiceMaster is headquartered in Downers Grove, Ill.
