DETROIT Doner and The Mills Corp. have mutually agreed to part ways, said Doner chairman and chief executive officer Alan Kalter.

“The decision to terminate the relationship was necessary due to strategic and financial differences,” Kalter said in a statement. Mills spent about $4 million on advertising in 2002, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR. Ken Volk, Mills’ senior vice president of marketing, could not be reached.

Mills is an Arlington, Va.-based real estate company that owns, develops, leases, manages and markets a portfolio of 24 retail and entertainment properties totaling approximately 31 million square feet.
