Brothers & Co. defeated three contenders to win the estimated $1 million marketing account of MidFirst Bank of Oklahoma City.
The Tulsa, Okla., agency was selected to develop broadcast, direct mail and collateral materials for the bank's 30 branches in Western and Central Oklahoma. The shop will also be a catalyst for MidFirst Bank's introduction to the Tulsa market, according to client marketing director Robin Paul.
MidFirst Bank conducted a December account review after parting ways recently with Jordan Associates, also of Oklahoma City. According to Paul, the bank considered Littlefield Marketing & Advertising in Tulsa and Fellers & Co. and Kizer Page Advertising & Communications, both in Oklahoma City, before selecting Brothers.
Initial work will involve television and radio branding, along with supporting newspaper print assignments, according to Paul. Bank services for consumer lending and accounts will dominate most of the work. Commercial lending services will also be a part of the mix.
The new account continues to diversify Brothers' roster, which currently has both business-to-business and trade clients in the retail, healthcare and energy arenas.
The client roster includes CSW Electric Utility Holding Co., Community Care HMO, St. John's Hospital, Silverado Foods and Zebco.
The bank wants to up its presence in Oklahoma, Paul said, after relocating about eight branches in its current markets in the past year. MidFirst is also developing plans to open five new branches in 1998.
Brothers will work with the client's four in-house advertising staffers, who assisted Jordan in producing MidFirst's largest broadcast campaign this past summer, according to Paul.
