MediaCom Names 2 Managing Partners

NEW YORK WPP Group's MediaCom has named Larry Swyer to the newly created position of managing partner, director of retail and tactical planning. Separately, Brooke Goldstein has been named managing partner, director of client services.

Swyer will oversee retail category clients and also work across the shop's entire client base to fine-tune their use of retail space as a communications channel. Swyer has held numerous senior posts since joining MediaCom in 1980.

Goldstein will provide strategic leadership across all agency clients. She joined MediaCom in 1999 and most recently held the position of senior partner, managing group director.

Both executives report to Barbara Cipolla, who joined MediaCom earlier this year as president, chief strategic services officer. She had been at sister shop Mediaedge:cia.

"This new position takes full advantage of Larry's extensive retail expertise and his exceptional track record in developing innovative results-driven campaigns for our clients," Cipolla said of Swyer.

Regarding Goldstein, Cipolla said, "Throughout her tenure with MediaCom, Brooke has emerged as a natural leader within our organization, with a track record for exceptional client service, teamwork, insight and creativity."
