World’s Largest Agency Network Creates New Global Body, Buys 4 Companies
NEW YORK–McCann-Erickson Worldwide has renamed itself McCann-Erickson WorldGroup as part of a restructuring intended to position the organization as a global marketing communications company and not just a large ad agency network.
In a related move, McCann-Erickson WorldGroup has acquired four marketing and public relations companies in the U.S. and the United Kingdom.
Under the restructuring, McCann-Erickson WorldGroup will be comprised of McCann-Erickson Worldwide Advertising, the world’s largest agency network with about $10 billion in billings, and six other other McCann marketing and pr networks.
Previously, McCann’s marketing and pr networks reported to McCann-Erickson Worldwide.
