DETROIT General Motors Corp. launched television advertising for a three-day promotion with spots from McCann-Erickson here last night.

“The GM 72-Hour Sale”, which begins Tuesday, offers 0 percent financing for 72 months to qualified buyers.

TV ads created by the Interpublic Group agency will run through Thursday—the day the sale ends—on network and cable television. In the “Locked In” spot, a man wearing a “zero” costume is locked inside a cage in a GM showroom. A customer asks about the cage, to which the man responds, “I’m locked in,” illustrating the financing rate is guaranteed for 72 months.
