Walt Connelly, former creative director on Intel at Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG in New York, has been named executive creative director on Microsoft at McCann-Erickson/A&L.

Connelly, 42, joins chief creative officer Kevin Moehlenkamp in spearheading creative work on the $300-350 million business at the San Francisco agency.

Agency president Barrie Hedge said Connelly’s hire caps a six-month period in which McCann has brought three other senior-level executives on board. He said the shop can “start doing good work now.”
