Skivington, Dee Join; Other Hires Expected
SAN FRANCISCO--McCann-Erickson here has made key hires in its creative and planning departments to strengthen its internal structure, said executive vice president and general manager Ron Benza.
Flora Skivington joins the agency in the newly created position of senior vice president and director of account planning. Previously, she was a partner and planning director at Ogilvy & Mather, New York, most recently developing a new global branding campaign for Kodak.
"I want to take my learning from Ogilvy and use that knowledge to create a strategic platform for [McCann's] clients," Skivington said.
"Flora will have all the freedom she wants to create a planning department," said Benza.
Additionally, former McCann creative Betsy Dee has rejoined the agency as vice president and group creative director, handling high-tech clients such as Silicon Graphics and DFS Group. Dee previously served as creative director for Resource Marketing, San Francisco.
"We are building our team for the coming of [the new] McCann San Francisco," Benza said of the two hires.
McCann is also close to naming a new executive media director--a long-vacant post--and executive creative director, said Benza. The latter post has been open since Dave Tutin left last year for Grey Advertising, New York [Adweek, Nov. 9].
McCann's other group creative director, John Mattingly, is serving as interim executive creative director, Benza said.
