NEW YORK The Coca-Cola Co. has created a new position to combine brand management duties for Coke Classic and Diet Coke, the company said.

Consequently, Coke worldwide CMO Dan Palumbo has tapped Marc Mathieu as vp, Coca-Cola Franchise, a new position within the Atlanta company’s marketing division.

In an internal memo, Palumbo wrote of the decision, “Our success going forward for the Coca-Cola Franchise requires a shared vision for the brand’s future, market-tested growth strategies, and dynamic and experienced leadership to focus the incredible resources of our system against this challenge.”
