BOSTON After half a decade without an advertising budget, the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission has sent requests for responses to agencies for its estimated $5 million account.

The commission sent the questionnaires to about 40 agencies on Monday, though others may apply as long as they have an office in Massachusetts, according to a client representative. The paperwork is due back on Aug. 20.

The commission is seeking agencies capable “of providing a full range of advertising services to further the overall marketing plan for retail sale of lottery games to generate revenue for the cities and towns of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts,” according to the RFR.
