Lexmark International last week selected The Weber Group as its public relations agency of record.
The announcement was made by Roger Rydell, who in January was appointed vice president of corporate communications at Lexington, Ky.-based Lexmark, a maker of laser and ink-jet printers. Rydell formerly worked for Timberland in Stratham, N.H., where he hired Weber.
Lexmark is the first client won by Weber since Marijean Lauzier was named its president and chief executive officer in January. Serviced from Weber's headquarters in Cambridge, Mass., Lexmark becomes one of the high-tech shop's five largest clients.
Weber replaces Ruder Finn in New York, said Lexmark representative Catherine Stewart. Grey Advertising, also in New York, is lead agency on advertising. --Judy Warner
