BOSTON The American Legacy Foundation has selected the Interpublic Group's Golin/Harris International as its lead public relations agency.
Finalists in the review were Interpublic's The MWW Group and Omnicom's Fleishman-Hillard, both in Washington, D.C. Incumbent Porter Novelli, also an Omnicom shop, exited the review before final presentations were made. Porter had held the account for four years.
"We had a very difficult decision—all the agencies we saw were passionate, brilliant and committed. We selected Golin/Harris because of their insight on opportunities to support the foundation's mission to build a world where young people reject tobacco and anyone can quit," said president and CEO of the American Legacy Foundation Cheryl G. Healton in a statement.
Pile and Co., Boston, managed the review. Billings were undisclosed.
The Washington office of Golin/Harris will take the lead on the account.
In a recent review for American Legacy's $50-60 million advertising account, the incumbent team of Havas' Arnold, Boston, and Maxxcom's Crispin Porter+ Bogusky, Miami, retained the account and a separate assignment was awarded to Omnicom's GSD&M, Austin, Texas.
