NEW YORK American Express Financial Advisors has cut to at least four semifinalists in the review of its estimated $55 million creative account, according to sources.

The client, which will be spun off from AmEx and require a new name and brand relaunch, had been handled by longtime AmEx agency Ogilvy & Mather. That WPP Group shop has advanced to the next round, sources said.

Others moving forward are: Interpublic Group’s Foote Cone & Belding and McCann Erickson, as well as Omnicom Group’s TBWA\Chiat\Day, all in New York, sources said.
