Several agencies in Boston’s Back Bay have recently fallen victim to a disturbing trend.
A detective with the Boston Police Department said incidences of stolen laptop computers, not just at advertising or public relations agencies but at all companies, are nearing epidemic proportions.
At one shop, a thief or thieves entered the office of an account executive during business hours after she stepped out to get coffee. She returned moments later to find her laptop missing.
Police detective Margot Hill encouraged companies to immediately contact the police when an item–any item–is suspected missing.
