Koepp Named Time Deputy M.E..

NEW YORK Stephen Koepp, Time magazine executive editor, has been named deputy managing editor of the weekly. Koepp, 44, succeeds James Kelly, who last week was promoted to managing editor. Koepp was appointed on Kelly's recommendation.

Time Inc. editor in chief Norman Pearlstine shuffled the deck after managing editor Walter Isaacson was promoted to Time Inc. editorial director. Issaacson replaces Henry Muller, who becomes the company's editor at large.

All appointments take effect Jan. 1, 2001.
