LOS ANGELES Kia Motors America said it has appointed consultancy Achenbaum Bogda Associates to complete the ongoing review for the creative portion of its $270 million ad account.
New York-based Achenbaum will oversee the competition from its office in Raleigh, N.C.
The Irvine, Calif.-based automaker acknowledged last week that it parted with its original search consultancy, AAR Partners in New York, over a perceived conflict of interest [Adweek Online, July 8]. In the initial stages of Kia's search, launched June 8, AAR was also handling Subaru's $140 million account. Both reviews are expected to conclude within weeks of each other at summer's end.
The client has given incumbent independent davidandgoliath in Los Angeles an automatic berth in the final round.
