Pennzoil Products Co.’s Jiffy Lube International chain is preparing to review the creative component of its estimated $8 million national account after accepting the resignation of Smith Advertising of Westwood, Kan., last month.
Cindy Landers, director of public relations for Jiffy Lube, confirmed that a review will begin after the first of the year–following the Dec. 30 completion of Pennzoil’s merger with Quaker State Corp.
Smith Advertising president Bill Smith confirmed the resignation but declined to elaborate.
Among the likely contenders for the account will be Pennzoil’s lead agency, GSD&M of Austin, Texas, which has placed media for the Jiffy Lube broadcast creative work developed by Smith.
