IPG Names Columbia House Exec CFO

BOSTON Interpublic Group today said it has named Frank Mergenthaler evp and chief financial officer. He succeeds Robert Thompson, who is leaving the company [Adweek Online, June 28].

Mergenthaler, 44, joins IPG from Columbia House, where he has been evp and CFO since 2002. He has also served as deputy CFO at Vivendi Universal and as svp, chief accounting officer at The Seagram Co.

“He’s a first-class executive who has personal experience with and great command of every facet of the finance function,” said IPG CEO and chairman Michael Roth in a statement.
