Magellan Labs Taps FWV PubliComATLANTA—FWV PubliCom's Richard French & Associates and sister shop West & Vaughan have added MagellanLaboratories to their client roster. Annual billings are undisclosed. The Raleigh, N.C., public relations and advertising agencies merged with Wisse, Hollmann & Co. earlier this year. Magellan, a pharmaceutical testing and development laboratory, is headquartered in Research Triangle Park, N.C. Del Rivero Messianu DDB Hires ACDATLANTA—Federico Casillas has been installed as associate creative director at del Rivero Messianu DDB. Casillas joins the Coral Gables, Fla., Hispanic advertising agency after copywriting stints at Leo BurnettMexico, where he worked on the Kellogg's, Procter &Gamble and Tia Rosa accounts before moving to Betancourt Barba Euro RSCG and Gibert DDB. He also worked at Square One in Dallas. Iconologic Tops ShowSouth AwardsATLANTA—Iconologic won a record 11 ShowSouth awards from the Creative Club of Atlanta. The shop captured a best of show for its interactive campaign for Milliken Carpet and a gold medal for its own Web site. BaylessCronin won best of show in the advertising category for its "Maps" television spot, created for Jefferson Pilot Financial Service. The Atlanta shop took home a total of eight awards for clients ESPN, ABC Sports and Church's Chicken. Best of show in print went to Franklin, Tenn., shop TH for a poster created for the Shakespeare Festival. Other winners included WestWayne in Atlanta with seven medals and 15 merit awards, and Trone's Greensboro, N.C., and Atlanta offices, which captured four medals and three merit awards. Sheehan, Kaplan Rise at Hill, HollidayBOSTON—Mike Sheehan, 41, has been named U.S. president of Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos, a new post, in which he will oversee the agency's Boston, New York and San Francisco offices. He is succeeded as Boston headquarters president by Karen Kaplan, who had been an executive vice president. With his expanded duties, Sheehan relinquishes his executive creative director duties; Hill, Holliday is seeking a creative veteran to fill that slot. David Wecal and Nancy Hill remain presidents of Hill, Holliday's New York and San Francisco operations, respectively, and now report to Sheehan, as does Kaplan. Jack Connors, who co-founded the Interpublic Group agency nearly 34 years ago, remains chairman and chief executive officer. New Businesses Open in AtlantaATLANTA—Former Folio Z executives Dan Hansen and Terry McLane have opened Red House here. The marketing firm will specialize branding projects for retail, technology, hospitality and medical clients. Charter accounts include software developer NetVendor and telecom ITC/DeltaCom. ... David Johnson and Laura Ward have formed Strategic Vision, a public relations agency here. Clients include Atlanta law firm Meadows, Ichter & Trigg, AMV Associates, a Charlotte, N.C.-based textile machinery distributor, and Longstreet Press in Atlanta.
