Bayless/Cronin Makes Wrangler Finals

Bayless/Cronin here will face Frierson Mee + Kraft of New York and Toth Brand Imaging in Concord, Mass., in the second round of pitches during the week of Oct. 11, confirmed Mark Clift, Wrangler's general manager of marketing. Tim Bayless and Jerry Cronin have separately worked on Marshalls and assorted shoe accounts. Frierson's fashion resumƒ includes branding Maidenform, and partner Neil Kraft was previously in-house creative director for Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Barney's. Toth helped launch the Tommy Hilfiger brand and now works for Union Bay, among others. A separate review for the Greensboro, N.C.-based apparel maker's Western wear account is down to three undisclosed agencies, sources said. The entire account could be consolidated at one of the mass market finalists. Clift said he hoped to name an agency by Nov. 1. Incumbent The Martin Agency, Richmond, Va., split with Wrangler in April, but will continue to handle media buys through year's end.
