Burnett's Starcom Gets E! Media
LOS ANGELES--Cable network E! Entertainment Television has tapped Holland Advertising in New York to handle creative duties and Leo Burnett's Starcom Media Services in Chicago to handle media planning and buying chores on its estimated $10 million account. E!, which previously handled most of its ad duties in-house, is Burnett's first media company client.

Michael Foods Seeks Carmichael Successor
CHICAGO--Michael Foods has parted with Carmichael Lynch, Minneapolis, and will hear presentations from BBDO, Clarity Coverdale Fury and Periscope Marketing Communications, all Minneapolis, for its $1-2 million account, according to client officials. The assignment includes consumer and trade advertising for the Minneapolis company's Simply Eggs, Simply Potatoes and Crystal Farms brands. A decision is expected in mid-October.

Ketchum Takes Top Newspaper Award
CHICAGO--Lee St. James, executive creative director of Ketchum Advertising, Pittsburgh, has won the $100,000 grand prize for the Newspaper Association of America's Athena Award. The winning entry, done with copywriter Krystal Falkner and photographer Robert Rostick, was placed by Atlanta's Black Professionals as a criticism of Ebonics. Its headline: "I has a dream."

Kellogg Extends Nutrition Push
CHICAGO--Kellogg Co. launched an extension to its campaign extolling the nutritional virtues of cereal with print ads on Sept. 27. TV spots begin today. The campaign, from Leo Burnett here, is tagged, "A healthier life is within your reach. So tomorrow morning, help yourself." Kellogg began touting cereal's health benefits last fall with print ads and, later, TV spots tagged, "Cereal. Eat it for life." Total spending on the this year's push is estimated at $25 million.

Cash Station Opens Review
CHICAGO--Cash Station, which operates automated teller machines here, has contacted a dozen Chicago agencies about a $1 million-plus account. The account has been inactive for some time.

Budget Consolidates Yellow Pages at TMP
CHICAGO--Budget Rent a Car Corp., Lisle, Ill., has consolidated its $26 million Yellow Pages account with TMP Worldwide's Chicago and Denver offices. Ketchum Directory Advertising in Chicago, which previously shared the account with TMP, was the other finalist in the review.

Burrell Joins Nationwide Roster
CHICAGO--Nationwide Insurance, Columbus, Ohio, has hired Burrell Communications here to handle creative development, media planning and public relations for the company's urban marketing programs. Billings were not disclosed. Temerlin McClain, Dallas, remains Nationwide's primary agency.
