A Point Group Acquires High-Tech Clients
DALLAS--The Point Group has been selected advertising agency of record by Marlow Industries and Network Two. Marlow Industries is a manufacturer of thermoelectric devices for the defense, aerospace, telecommunications and medical industries. Network Two is a provider of managed network services. Both the agency and the two clients are based in Dallas. Billings were not disclosed.
A Communications Group Goes to the Fair
DALLAS--The Communications Group has won a review to become agency of record for the Arkansas State Fair and Livestock Show. Neither the agency nor the client would disclose annual billings. The Little Rock shop topped local finalists Stone & Ward and Heathcott
Associates for the business.
A Kuhn Plans Move to Hill, Holliday in Boston
BOSTON--Frederick "Fritz" Kuhn will join Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos here as assistant director of account planning from GSD&M in Austin, Texas. Kuhn joined GSD&M last spring from Leo Burnett in Toronto, where he introduced and built the planning capability after working as a planner at that agency's home office in Chicago. He will report to Justin Holloway, who was named director of planning in November. Holloway previously worked at Hal Riney & Partners.
A Venetian Resort Hotel Casino Picks Quillin
LOS ANGELES--The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, presumably searching for a larger agency after parting ways with Heftel Media in November, has instead selected another small shop, Quillin & Co. Advertising & Public Relations, according to sources familiar with the review. The $1.2 billion Venice-themed entertainment complex, which opened on the Las Vegas strip in May, had been searching for a new agency to help it spend $5 million on a grand opening promotion, according to an industry source. The total account value has not been disclosed. The Venetian spent $2.4 million on advertising in the first 10 months of 1999. Both Quillin and Heftel are located in Las Vegas.
A Inacom Selects Forza Marketing Group
DALLAS--Inacom Information Systems, a technology services company, has selected Forza Marketing Group to handle its advertising account, previously in-house. The $40 million unit of Inacom Corp. is a provider of information systems. Both the client and the agency are based in Little Rock, Ark.
A Car Dealers Sign With Guerra DeBerry
DALLAS--Guerra DeBerry & Co. has added World Car Automotive Group to its client roster. World Car, based in San Antonio, has 13 dealership locations selling Pontiac, Buick, GMC, Nissan, Mazda, Hyundai and Kia vehicles. Guerra DeBerry, also located in San Antonio, will be responsible for both creative and media duties.
