A BaylessCronin Resigns Red Hat Account ATLANTA--BaylessCronin has resigned as ad agency for Red Hat, developer of Linux-based operating systems and software. The move comes less than a month after the Durham, N.C., company parted ways with its chief marketing director, Tom Butta, who hired the Atlanta shop. A Red Hat spokesperson said BaylessCronin "has apparently called every[body] but us" to announce the resignation. "If [an agency] search is started, it will be formally announced," the spokesperson said. A RM&D Gets $5 Mil. AssociationCentral.com ATLANTA--Richardson, Myers & Donofrio has been named agency of record for AssociationCentral.com, an online provider of information about nonprofit groups, professional societies and trade associations. The Baltimore shop topped five undisclosed contenders for the Rockville, Md., client's estimated $5 million creative, media and public relations account. A Tombras Group to Tout Gatlinburg Tourism ATLANTA--The Tombras Group has been named agency of record for the Gatlinburg [Tenn.] Department of Tourism. The four finalists, all based in Knoxville, Tenn., for the $1.5 million account were Tombras, Davis Newman & Payne, Freeman Melancon Bryant and Lavidge & Associates. Incumbent Frank Best & Ingram did not defend. A Richard French Adds Branch Operations ATLANTA--Richard French & Associates has acquired a Tennessee marketing company and opened a fourth branch office. Equestrian Sports Marketing in Nashville will be folded into a regional office, RF&A/Nashville, led by general manager Renita Gordon, previously president of ESM. Senior vice president of client services Jack Glasure, one of the Raleigh, N.C., agency's founders, will open a facility in Tampa/St. Petersburg, Fla. A Zoom City Opens Offices in N.C., N.Y. ATLANTA--Zoom City, a new advertising agency headed by two creative directors from Charron, Schwartz & Partners, has opened offices in North Carolina and New York. Dana McMahan and Bob Sarlin will serve as chief executive officer in Chapel Hill, N.C., and president in Manhattan, respectively. Initial clients include Hispanic shopping Web site ZisZas.com and Volunteer Orange. A Knoxville Shop Loses MasterCraft Business CHICAGO--MasterCraft has awarded its advertising account to Periscope Marketing Services after an informal review, agency officials said. The Vonore, Tenn., company makes and markets water ski and sport motorboats. Billings were undetermined, but the Minneapolis agency will create television, print and radio ads. The incumbent was The Creative Network in Knoxville, Tenn. A No Nonsense Confirms McKinney & Silver Win ATLANTA--No Nonsense panty hose confirmed its hire of McKinney & Silver as creative agency for its estimated $9 million account [Adweek, March 10]. The Greensboro, N.C.-based client also assigned media duties to the Atlanta division of Initiative Media. McKinney is located in Raleigh, N.C.
