Nasuti & Hinkle Adds Net2000 to Roster ATLANTA--Telecommunications provider Net2000 Communications has chosen Nasuti & Hinkle as its agency of record. The Silver Spring, Md., shop won a shootout with the client's public relations partner, RMR & Associates of Rockville, Md. The first assignment will involve developing a branding campaign, which, according to N&H creative director Woody Hinkle, will be based on concepts the agency delivered in its winning pitch presentation. Print, followed by outdoor, will likely be accompanied by radio advertising, Hinkle said. Nasuti & Hinkle, which is also developing a new Web site for Net2000, will be responsible for media buys and planning. The account had been at Baltimore-based Strategix, which parted ways with Net2000 earlier this year, according to Stephanie Nicoll, client marketing communications manager. Billings were undisclosed, but unlikely to exceed $1 million, Nicoll said. Bedford Group to Conduct Powertel Review ATLANTA--The Bedford Group has become the review consultant for Powertel's $15 million account, according to sources. The client has decided to expand its search nationally, and has reached out to at least one Chicago shop, sources said. Atlanta incumbent Pollak Levitt & Nel Advertising has indicated it will defend. Principal Jane Bedford said she could "neither confirm nor deny" her Atlanta company's involvement. Powertel would not comment. Merz Awards Brands to Trone Advertising ATLANTA--Merz Pharmaceuticals has awarded Trone Advertising strategic and integrated marketing responsibilities for four brands the company has recently acquired and will market in the U.S. The Greensboro, N.C., shop assumes duties for Aqua Glycolic, a skin care system; Naftin, a antifungal prescription; and Erymax and Ergel, a pair of acne treatments. Trone is already agency of record for the company's topical gel, Mederma skin care for scars. WB TV Assignment for Preston-Osborne ATLANTA--Preston-Osborne has been named advertising and public relations agency for the new Kentucky affiliate of The WB television network, according to the Lexington, Ky., shop's account director, Noelle Dick. The call letters for the station, which will have one centrally located tower that will allow it to triangulate broadcast transmissions to Bowling Green, Lexington and Louisville, Ky., are pending. The previous WB affiliate switched to PAXnet last month. For the Record The Dell Refurbished account that was awarded to Makos Advertising, Marketing and Design in Austin, Texas, had been at Ammirati Puris Lintas in New York on a project-only basis and was not part of that agency's contract as reported [Adweek, Aug. 16]. The Dell Refurbished business is valued at $2 million.
