Clow to Be Named Chairman of TBWA
NEW YORK--John Wren, chief executive of Omnicom Group here, is expected to announce the promotion of Lee Clow to chairman of TBWA Worldwide as early as this week, said sources. Clow, currently chairman of TBWA/Chiat/Day and worldwide chief creative officer of TBWA, will succeed retiring TBWA International chairman and co-founder Bill Tragos [Adweek, Feb. 8]. Wren and Clow declined comment.
Saatchi Breaks Global HP 'E-Services' Effort
SAN FRANCISCO--Saatchi & Saatchi, San Francisco, last week unveiled the first ad in a $100-150 million global campaign for Hewlett-Packard's Enterprise Computing Solutions Organization, Palo Alto, Calif. The print execution, appearing in national newspapers, uses the tagline, "The next E. E-Services." More print ads will roll out this week, followed by TV and interactive components later this year.
Goodby Snares E*Trade
SAN FRANCISCO--As expected, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners has been awarded the estimated $50-60 million ad account of online investing company E*Trade, Palo Alto, Calif. [Adweek, Feb. 1]. Incumbent Gotham, New York, and E*Trade officially parted ways early last week, according to sources.

LOS ANGELES--TBWA/Chiat/Day, San Francisco, has been awarded ad duties on the $25 million integrated marketing account of OnHealth Network Co., a Seattle-based online network of health and wellness services. Fleishman-Hillard, New York and San Francisco, has been tapped for public relations, while Thinking Media, New York, will handle interactive chores.

Einstein Bros. Bagels has begun contacting agencies on the East and West Coasts about its estimated $5-8 million account, sources said. The unit of Boston Chicken in Golden, Colo., has relied mostly on in-store promotions for over a year. Thomas & Perkins in Denver has worked with the client (known as Noah's Bagels on the West Coast) on a project basis. An Einstein representative declined to call it a review, but characterized the effort as "looking at the landscape of agencies out there." ... Virgin Entertainment has selected WongDoody, Santa Monica, Calif., to handle the launch of its Virgin Megastores online business. The agency prevailed over Swirl, San Francisco, and Bulldog Drummond, San Diego. Billings were undisclosed. ... Optiva Corp., Bellevue, Wash., has selected three finalists for its estimated $15-20 million account. They are TBWA/Chiat/Day and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, both in San Francisco, and an undisclosed West Coast shop, sources said.
