Elizabeth DeMaso has returned to her new-business roots, joining Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos’ New York office as svp, director of business development.

DeMaso, 33, was svp, associate director of business development at Deutsch before leaving last year to start recruiting firm DeMaso Adelson with Alyssa Adelson. She began at Hill, Holliday/New York in the newly created post last week.

“It gets into your blood,” she said. “I’m a lifer for new business. A lot of clients tried to recruit me … but this was the right opportunity.”

No decision has been made as to whether her recruiting firm will remain open, DeMaso said.

At Hill, Holliday/New York, she is charged with managing the agency’s new-business prospecting; she oversees two staffers and is working primarily with the senior-management team. DeMaso reports to Hill, Holliday/New York managing director David Kess ler and will coordinate her duties with Boston-based chief marketing officer Ruth Ayres, who heads new business across all Hill, Holliday offices.

DeMaso worked for Kessler in the early ’90s at Griffin Bacal, where she spent five years, most recently as vp of business development. They began discussing the new position shortly after Kessler joined Hill, Holliday/New York in September.

“I have tremendous confidence in her,” said Kessler. “She has a fabulous reputation and is the best at what she does.”

IPG-owned Hill, Holliday, based in Boston, claims billings of about $1 billion. The New York office’s cli ents include Priceline.com and Min olta; it has about 150 staffers.
