Hill, Holliday Taps Leader on Liberty Mutual

BOSTON Interpublic Group's Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos has named Kerry Benson to head up its recently won Liberty Mutual account.

Benson, 40, has been hired by the agency here as a senior vice president and account director. Benson's most recent agency post had been at independent crosstown shop Connelly Partners, where she was a partner and director of brand strategy. While at Connelly for nearly three years, she helped guide efforts for clients such as Ocean Spray Craisins, Polaroid, Stonyfield Farm and Uncle Sam Cereal. (She recently split with Connelly for a short stint at a company outside the communications industry.)

"Kerry is a perfect match for the Liberty Mutual client. She's great motivator, she understands the business and is constantly proactive," said Karen Kaplan, president of Hill, Holliday's flagship office in Boston.

Hill, Holliday won the $50 million Liberty Mutual business in late October in a review over Havas' Arnold and Euro RSCG and MDC Partners' Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners [Adweek Online, Oct. 31]. The account ranks among Hill, Holliday's biggest new-business wins in the past several years.

Benson's agency experience also includes tenures at KB+P, Arnold, Ogilvy & Mather and Leonard Monahan.
