Never before have Batman, the Green Lantern and the X-Men had a stronger connection with advertising.
The arrival of Neal Adams, superhero-illustrator-for-hire catering to the ad industry, has founded Continuity Studios, which promises agencies a cost-effective alternative to standard commercial test shoots.
Through offices in Burbank, Calif., and New York, the former Marvel and D.C Comics illustrator provides clients with his own homespun "animatics"—computer-animated test commercials made with drawings that include sound and voice tracks.
Clients so far include Dailey & Associates, West Hollywood, Calif., as well as Young & Rubicam and BBDO in New York.
"With today's computer technology, animatics look better than ever before," said Adams.
