NEW YORK Comcast has promoted Ted Harbert to the newly created position of president and CEO of Comcast Entertainment Group, giving him oversight of the company’s West Coast properties: E! Entertainment Television, Style Network and G4.

Harbert had previously served as president and CEO of E! Networks, a role he assumed in summer 2004, following the resignation of his predecessor, Mindy Herman. He assumes his new duties immediately.

Neal Tiles, who joined G4 in 2005 as president of the network, will retain his position, reporting to Harbert.
