Brochures recalled by Oklahoma tourism officials because they tout activities that may seem off-putting, such as cow-manure tossing and Confederate war re-enactments. The pamphlets were also riddled with spelling, grammatical and factual mistakes. “We discovered the material in the event guide was culturally insensitive and contained errors,” said tourism director Rob Gray. One photo showed an events in which cow manure is thrown as a part of a contest in the town of Beaver, in western Oklahoma.
