The mayor of Los Angeles, keen to get multimedia companies into the city, recently stopped by Ground Zero's new offices in the Marina del Rey area of Los Angeles for a tour and meet-and-greet with the staff.
Mayor Richard Riordan's business development office had been instrumental in helping expedite the permit process for the agency's move to the City of Angels from neighboring Santa Monica, said agency managing partner Jim Smith.
During his visit, the former L.A. businessman sat in on a strategy session for Ground Zero client Citysearch.com, viewed the agency reel and heard from executives about the shop's "Soul of the Brand" philosophy.
"He seemed like a good bloke," said the British-born Smith. "He understood our thinking and methodology behind Soul of the Brand, which is something that can be applied to the city's communications efforts."
