SAN FRANCISCO Independent BuderEngel & Friends here has hired associate creative director Kevin Frank from crosstown shop Venables, Bell & Partners.
At BuderEngel, Frank, 35, works on accounts such as the California State Automobile Association, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Dr. Martens AirWair and ESPN Media Networks.
He started his career as a copywriter and progressed to associate creative director.
Frank' advertising honors include multiple appearances in Communication Arts and The One Show, a gold Cyber Lion at Cannes, and two gold and two silver Effies.
He was one of the original staff members at independent Venables, Bell, where he worked on accounts including Pacific Gas & Electric, Barclays Global Investors, HBO Video, Napster and Mervyn's.
"We're lucky to have him," said Vince Engel, BuderEngel creative director and principal. "Kevin has a wealth of experience in a variety of media, including interactive, TV and radio. Besides, he's just a nice guy."
Frank, who assumes a new position at the agency, reports to Engel. He joins a staff that includes partners Wayne Buder, managing director, and Andy Narraway, general manager, at the 2-year-old shop.
