Bozell and Chiat/Day, both New York, and Arnold Fortuna Lawner & Cabot/Boston have reached the final round in NYNEX Cerp.'s ongoing review to decide whether to consolidate its estimated $130-million media account. AFL&C handles NYNEX's New England Telephone unit; Chiat handles NYNEX Information Resources (the Yellow Pages division). Bozell does not have a piece of the business. Ogilvy & Mather, Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising, Young & Rubicam and Grey Advertising were all eliminated from the competition. NYNEX spokesperson Janine Mudge said the review process will now go forward with the three finalists, the object being to decide whether it makes good fiscal sense to consolidate the NYNEX Corp., New York Telephone, New England Telephone and Information Resources accounts with "one of the three finalists (within) the next few weeks."
