Best Western is out to host minority family reunions at its hotels in two Southeast cities.
The Phoenix-based hotel chain’s pilot marketing campaign is intended to attract Hispanic and African American families to Atlanta and Orlando, Fla., this summer.
“Both places possess minority populations of sufficient dimension to attract a sizeable number of visitors, friends and relatives,” said Vicki Meyers, managing director of advertising for Best Western International. “Their appeal . . . makes both markets ideal for a traveler-related marketing program.”
The effort, produced by YP&B/Christian in Orlando, is built around a Hispanic “Uncle Julio” and a black “Aunt Hattie.”
