CHICAGO Publicis Groupe’s Fallon has added Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts to the portfolio of brands it handles for InterContinental Hotels Group, the agency has confirmed. The shop also works for IHG’s Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express chains.

The Minneapolis-based agency’s assignment includes developing a golf-affinity platform touting the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, which will be held May 21-27, 2007 in Fort Worth, Texas. The program will include the chain’s first television campaign.

“We want to align Crowne’s position as ‘The place to meet’ with golf because we know the golf course is already an informal meeting place and a post-meeting pastime,” said Kevin Kowalski, vice president of brand management at the company, in a statement.
