BOSTON Ed Eskandarian, chairman and CEO of the Arnold worldwide agency network, will be honored tonight for his contribution to enhancing business relations between France and the U.S.

The French-American Chamber of Commerce is presenting Eskandarian with this year's French-American Business Award of New England. Eskandarian in August 2000 engineered the sale of Arnold parent Snyder Communications to Paris-based holding company Havas in a deal estimated at $2.1 billion.

Arnold ranks as New England's largest ad agency, working for clients such as Volkswagen of America, Royal Caribbean and Citizens Bank. The extended Arnold network also includes offices in McLean, Va., New York, St. Louis and Toronto, as well relationship marketing shop Brann Worldwide, Wilton, Conn., and the McKinney + Silver ad agency in Raleigh, N.C.

Havas chairman and CEO Alain de Pouzilhac said in a statement that he respects Eskandarian as "not only a great professional [and] a great leader, but also a man with very special human qualities."

The award will be presented tonight during a gala dinner at Le Meridien Hotel in Boston.
