After nearly six months without a chief marketing officer, DoubleClick has hired Pete Krainik to fill the role left vacant by Susan Sachtello this summer. Krainik was most recently vice president and general manager of the consumer goods division at Siebel Systems, where he worked for almost two years. Before joining Siebel, he spent 15 years at Mars Inc., where he was vice president of sales, chief business officer. Krainik will be responsible for developing the New York-based company's global marketing strategy and will work with the executive team to identify and expand into key vertical markets in 2004. "His recent experience running the consumer goods division at a CRM company will be very beneficial to DoubleClick as we look to expand our solutions," CEO Kevin Ryan said in a statement.
