NEW YORK The Apprentice, the latest reality show being produced by Survivor producer Mark Burnett, has paid Madison Avenue a visit.

Sources said a film crew for the new NBC show, currently in development and slated to debut in early January, recently spent time at Deutsch Inc. shooting an episode that centers around advertising. CEO Donny Deutsch and some of his colleagues will appear in the episode, sources said.

The show challenges 16 contestants from all walks of life to compete for a dream job with New York real estate tycoon Donald Trump. After submitting to various work-related tests of skill, one contestant is eliminated each week until the last contestant standing is declared the winner.

Deutsch would not comment on The Apprentice episode. NBC also declined comment.

Deutsch has been quite active in the media world of late. He's under contract by CNBC to produce a TV show as well as a series of specials, the first of which debuts in November. Deutsch also has taken a financial stake in Open City Films, a New York production company that will produce independent films through the new venture Deutsch Open City. He is also considering making a bid for New York magazine.
