Palisades Media Group’s new direct arm isn’t a result of any long-term plan. Instead, it arose out of a conversation between CEO Roger Schaffner and longtime acquaintance Eileen Joyce, a 30-year media vet who had just left her job, Schaffner said last week.

“When Eileen became available, that was the perfect opportunity to start a division,” said Schaffner.

Schaffner and Joyce, who becomes evp of Palisades Direct, have known each other through the Los Angeles media community since 1979.
