Damman Joins WestWayne's Creative Staff

ATLANTA Dave Damman, a former creative director at Fallon in Minneapolis, joined WestWayne here this week in the same role, the shop said.

The move reunites Damman with Bobby Pearce, WestWayne's executive creative director, who left Fallon in June to join WestWayne. The two have known each other for a decade, beginning as an art director-copywriter team at Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis and spending the past two years as creative directors at Fallon.

"We finish each other's sentences," Damman said of the relationship.

Damman, 39, said he moved to Atlanta for the opportunity to be part of a growing independent shop. WestWayne, with $450 million in annual billings, is one of the largest independent shops in the Southeast.

"They have a very strong vision," Damman said. "It's an independent shop trying to establish Atlanta as a creative mecca."

Damman has worked on brands including BMW, Citibank, Harley-Davidson, Holiday Inn and United Airlines.

The addition completes the management restructuring that WestWayne's CEO, Jeff Johnson, began two years ago. During that time, Johnson has added a director of business development, chief operating officer, chief marketing officer and chief creative officer, in addition to Pearce and Damman. The executive recruits came from agencies such as Fallon, Cliff Freeman and Partners, Publicis and Saatchi & Saatchi.
