Spokescharacters invade the playing fields in two spots running now. A Burger King commercial created by Crispin Porter + Bogusky that broke earlier in the fall in time for the start of the football season shows the creepy king running on the field apropos of nothing and scoring a touchdown. Now, a Nintendo ad by Leo Burnett reprises the theme and shows a life-size Mario running onto a soccer field and disrupting a game in progress. But both pale in comparison to the original "fake sports game interrupted"—the 2003 Nike ad "Streaker," by Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, Ore., which showed fake footage of a streaker outrunning cops thanks to his Nike shoes.
