Cossette Acquires Post & Partners

NEW YORK--Cossette Communications Group, the Toronto-based communications company, has acquired Post & Partners for $7.5 million in cash and stock.

The shop will be renamed Cossette Post.

Chairman and COO Frank Sampogna, president and creative director Steve Crane, as well as evp and director of media services Richard Lefkowitz will retain their positions at Cossette Post.

Post & Partners, New York, whose clients include Panasonic, TD Waterhouse and Amica Insurance, changed its name from Emmerling Post last year. The agency has about 70 staffers and billings of $120 million. This is the second foray into the U.S. by Cossette Communications Group, which opened Optimum Public Relations in Falls Church, Va., in 1997.

Cossette Communications Group had a gross income of about $195 million for the year ending June 30, 2001; clients include Bell Canada, Coca-Cola and General Mills Canada.
