CHICAGO Ron Askew, chief marketing officer of Coors Brewing, is leaving the company on Dec. 14, a client representative confirmed.

“It was Ron’s decision” to leave, the rep said, offering no further comment. Askew could not immediately be reached.

Askew joined the Golden, Colo.-based brewery in October 2001 from Omnicom Group’s Integer Group, a Coors promotions agency.

Among his major moves were adding Interpublic Group’s Deutsch in New York and Havas’ Arnold in Boston to the brewery’s roster to pitch ideas along with Coors’ longtime agency, IPG’s Foote Cone & Belding in Chicago.
